When We Wake Podcast

I recently had the chance to sit down with Andrew Shaver for a conversation about music, work, and where I’m at these days.

We talked about a lot of different chapters - discovering jazz as a teenager, finding my way into a life as a working musician, and the many years I’ve spent mostly in a supporting role, playing on other people’s records and shows.

We also talked about my newest release How To Care For Introverts, a record that’s very stripped down, built around solo lap steel.

There’s a thread in the conversation about learning, about how encouragement at the right time can really shape a path, and how I think about passing that along now, whether through teaching or just showing up generously in musical spaces.
